Our journey to build a refuge for children

Our staff currently is just us as a married couple from Alabama that God called to make a huge leap of faith to East Tennessee to help kids that are in need.  There is a great need in the near future in many areas from fundraising, feeding kids, and digging ditches so to speak.  We have a lot of work ahead of us soon and many will be needed.  So if you are being lead here by God, please inquire about the opportunities to volunteer.  It will take an army and we want God's army to lead the way.

We are a married couple from Alabama that God started calling us to make a huge leap of faith to East Tennessee.  In the spring of 2021 everywhere we turned God was saying "Go to the mountains."  We didn't know what that meant for a while.  It was so much that we made a plaque that has each of the verses that God kept pointing us almost to daily.  From Cullman, AL to hiking/camping in Tennessee, came the thoughts of why Tennessee so much God?  Until we landed in Newport, TN the last part of May of 2021.  God said this is the place!  After He gave us the location of Newport, we began to look for a property that would fit our needs.  As we looked for a property God gave us the why to this area.  To foster kids and build an orphanage.  All of this didn't happen all at once.  It happened over the course of a couple of months in May and June 0f 2021.  When we would be talking many days about if this was what God wants us to do, He would confirm it as Michelle and I would be in the middle of having these discussions.  We have come to realize that when something gets repeated over and over again day after day, it is God telling us to keep moving forward in that direction.  Until He guides us in a different direction.  He has not stopped to this day guiding us to open up this orphanage.  Trust me when I say this next sentence.  We feel so unworthy and unqualified to do such a huge work for God.  It still blows our minds as to why almost daily.  We know that there is going to be many struggles and many needs to build the vision that He has given us.  It will take many dollars and workers to doing what God has said.  Nehemiah lead his people to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem in 52 days, so why can't we lead the people to build a God-Centered sanctuary for broken kids?  God even used by a decree from the king, that Nehemiah's enemies were to help fund the rebuilding of the broken walls.  We can, and the answer is, and we will as long as God stays at the center and focus of it all.  Without Him this will not be possible to complete.  Now the work is to began to fund this orphanage that He has called us to build.

Our mission

Our mission is very simple.  Provide a loving refuge that is safe for children.  Without love, how can these children know Jesus and the God that created them all?  Everyone wants to be loved that.  That is a proven fact by many, so why not love the unwanted and/or uncared for the most?  We strive to love and feed ourselves, our own kids and family; so why not do the same for the unwanted and/or uncared for?  Jesus many times was around the outcasts of His time.  We want the outcast here at The Sanctuary of East Tennessee.  We want to be a refuse and a safe place for these children no matter where they come from or their background or the color of their skin.  Jesus loves everyone, but we don't always love Him back sometimes or at all.  Or even think or know He loves us.  We want to show each of the children that come to The Sanctuary of East Tennessee that someone realize does care about them the way God loves us.
